EGS News :: NazLAN III A Huge Success!
NazLAN III A Huge Success!
Posted by Steven Smith on April 20, 2010
Despite some problems early on, we had a solid turnout for NazLAN III. Over 30 gamers showed up for 12 hours of computer and console gaming, snarfed 15 pizzas, and drank several liters of soda each. We were sponsored by CPU Magazine, who gave each gamer a free copy of this month's issue, and a year's subscription to the winner of the UT2K4 tournament. Digsby, the social network aggregator, provided plenty of swag for everybody... shirts, post-its, and stickers for everyone's cases. Papa John's gave us a generous bulk pizza discount, and the Nazareth College facilities team ensured we had tables, chairs, and enough temporary power for all of those 1kW PSUs (and all of those laptops, too...)
This was the first event run by the actual EGS club, as chartered by Nazareth's Undergraduate Association. We did a great job, but NazLAN IV will be even better... stay tuned for an announcement about our largest LAN ever!
